To generate an adequate buzz about the event, representatives from Antigua Show Management (ASM) will be making an appearance at the Genoa Boat Show (that is scheduled to take place at the end of this month). ASM will have their own booth at theGenoa show. They are confident that their showing in Genoa will help expose them to international representatives of other yachting districts.

The show remins open February 15, 2007 through the 19th. The yacht charter industry gathered at Marina Molo Vecchio in Genoa, Italy for another Mediterranean charter show. This year's show, renamed the MYBA Charter Show, was produced and owned by MYBA, the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association, who did a fine job in coordination of the event. Overall the show, sponsored by YV&C, attracted approximately 80 yachts for charter ranging in size from 65' and above and 150 leading charter agencies from around the World. The elbow-rubbing cocktail parties were in full swing again (as were some of the brokers). We hope you have as much fun looking through our photo album from the show as we did attending it.

Everyone was happy with this year's Monaco Yacht Show! Held in September at Port Hercules in the prestigious and fairytale port of Monaco with its magnificent views of the Alps and the Mediterranean sea, the show lived up to its name as the world's premier luxury yacht show. The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is the only nautical trade show in the world with a focus on boats of 20m and over and big was the name of the game. Gigantic and sumptuous yachts with their tall masts aimed high towards the French Alps impressing visitors by their immense size. The other advantage of this show is that you get to see these big babies floating elegantly in their natural habitat, the crystal clear water of the Med a real advantage to brokers who want to take clients out for a test sail.

Registrations are coming in stronger than previous years for the 2005 Antigua Charter Yacht Show. 'We have some wonderful yachts exhibiting and many yachts showing for the first time. The 23rd Annual Newport Spring Charter Yacht Show took place this week at the Newport Shipyard, Newport, Rhode Island. This year, more than 30 charter yachts and more than 100 charter brokers, press, and industry professionals participated at this annual event. On Wednesday, Newport Charter Yacht Seminar presented speakers such as Brian Piers of Homeland Security and Customs, Robert Peck of MARSH Insurance, Rupert Conner of Luxury Yacht Group, and Kurt Bosshardt on Contract topics.

The Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association organized and produced yet another successful International Yacht Charter Meeting in 2005. The jade waters of Genoa, Italy were graced with some of the most luxurious yachts available for charter, including some new launches just out of the shipyard and a 6-year refit of a 1920's steam ship that would leave you speechless. On the scene on the beautiful island of Antigua, YV&C editorial team inspected charter yachts of all sizes. The 43rd Annual Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting hosted more than 100 yachts in three marinas, including the newly refurbished Nelson's Dockyard. According to Afsaneh Franklin, show administrator, there were more than 550 attendees--charter brokers, agents, and press from all over the world.

An impressive array of more than 50 Greek-flagged yachts made for an enjoyable show. It was a picture postcard morning on the island of Poros, Greece.
