(New York, NY, July 21, 2004) - Invited guests from leading publications based in the New York area were welcomed aboard M/Y Anson Bell, a 156ft Palmer Johnson, Tuesday evening for a cocktail reception celebrating the opening of Nigel Burgess's new Manhattan office.

According to Alev Karagulle, director of marketing and communications for the large yacht brokerage, which maintains offices in London, Monaco, and Fort Lauderdale, the decision to open a New York office was based on a prediction that "our activities in the U.S. will adopt an increasingly important role for us over the coming years. We have seen our current market share in the U.S. increase with the advent of yachts becoming larger."

The light-wood paneled luxurious Anson Bell sleeps 12, has a crew of 10, and boasts an extremely high safety rating. She is available for charter this summer in the New England area. (See YV&C, issue 1, page 29, for a 10-day classic New England itinerary from Anson Bell's captain, George Whitehouse.)

For more information, contact Nigel Burgess at 3 East 63rd St. (212 223-0410), or e-mail newyork@nigelburgess.com.

(July 20, 2004) - Grisha Davida, president of SYS-CON Events and producer of SuperYacht Conference (www.SuperYachtConference.com) with Captain George Whitehouse of ANSON BELL on the upper deck of the yacht. A close friend of Tiger Woods, Captain Whitehouse is getting ready for a six-week "golf charter" during which his guests will stop at a number of golf courses along the way, while staying aboard the yacht. Woods, says Captain Whitehouse, owns his own yacht and will not be among the guests on this trip.

(July 20, 2004) - Peter Brown and Charles Dence of Nigel Burgess with Jamie Matusow, executive editor of International Yacht Vacations & Charters Magazine. Brown, based in Nigel Burgess' Florida office and Dence, based in London, are giving additional support to their newly opened New York office throughout the summer.

(July 20, 2004) - Fuat Kircaali, publisher of International Yacht Vacations & Charters Magazine, with Richard Thiel, editor-in-chief of Power & Motoryacht.
