Spanning several months, both tournaments consist of a series of competitions, the next of which is the 2006 BellSouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament, the world's largest kingfish tournament and a stop on the Mercury Tournament Trail.

Taking place July 17th through the 22nd at Sisters Creek Park in Florida, the BellSouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament draws an estimated 1,000 sport fishermen hoping to earn a share of the tournament's $500,000 in prizes. In addition to prizes for the largest catch and largest two-day aggregate, bonus prizes are awarded for any record-breaking catches. Nearly 30,000 spectators come to enjoy the tournament's weeklong festivities, including a food festival, live entertainment, a designated KidZone and a fireworks presentation as the grand finale.
