Grand Hotel Europe Unveils New Cruise Excursions
Grand Hotel Welcomes Katarina, A New Luxury Speedboat, Into Its Extensive Transport Fleet

The Grand Hotel Europe recently welcomed a new addition into its extensive transport fleet – a new ultra-fast, luxury speedboat, the Katarina. With a variety of day excursions available aboard Katarina, guests can appreciate the city’s history and sights from the water, leaving an unforgettable impression of St. Petersburg.  Imported from Venice, the US$285,000 boat ensures the utmost comfort when cruising along the many granite embankments which line most of the city’s waterways.

Katarina’s interiors are paneled with a variety of precious wood, while the upholstery is made from the finest quality fabrics.  The cabin is suitable for all types of weather conditions.

Onboard Katarina’s high-speed excursions, guests will be offered a fine selection of hors d’oeuvres along with signature drinks prepared by the Grand Hotel Europe’s Executive Chef, Dominique Ferchaud.

The hotel’s concierge will assist guests when choosing the perfect route through St. Petersburg:

  • “To the Heart of St. Petersburg” — A trip along the Neva, Fontanka and Moika rivers.
  • “St. Petersburg Past and Present” — A sightseeing excursion along the Fontanka and Neva rivers, including all the bridges along the Neva.
  • “The Melodies of St. Petersburg’s Bridges” — A nighttime excursion to watch the opening of the bridges.
  • “Peterhof - Palace of an Empire” — a trip to the fountains of Peterhof.
  • “Peter’s Forts” — an excursion focusing on the fortresses of St. Petersburg, including a picnic at Kronshtadt.
