When I visited The Millionaire Fair in Cannes on the French Riviera this past September I was amazed by the choice of indulgent products and luxurious lifestyle services on show. I could have stayed browsing among the 24-carat diamonds for at least 24 hours had a flashy new Lamborghini not lured me out of my trance... or was it the private jet. This is most definitely the place for the chic jet set crowd to shop. Money is no object as price tags tangle futilely as luxury products, many one of a kind, get snapped up by discerning, wealthy shoppers who seek exclusive acquisitions to complement their unique style.

The luxury lifestyle event is the brainchild of founder Mr Yves Gijrath, President of Gijrath Media Groep BV, which publishes Miljonair Magazine. He launched the idea for the Millionaire Fair on the idea behind his magazine, ‘The Luxury Lifestyle’. Gijrath felt a one-stop shop for millionaires and billionaires was needed to showcase the superior products and services they desire in a setting, which allowed them to easily browse in private and relaxed surroundings.

The fair has caught the imagination of the press and the stars. BBC World claimed it “the place to be.” English actress and famous model Elizabeth Hurley called it “the sexiest event I’ve ever seen” and according to GQ Magazine “the fair is the one stop shop for the super rich.”

The first fair took place in Amsterdam four years ago to resounding success and organisers have since added top destinations, Shanghai, Dubai, Kortrijk and Moscow to the calendar of events. The most recent fairs were held in October in Moscow and in September in Cannes, thrilling visitors with an astounding and rich variety of ideas to add high value to their lifestyle.

Hunting for unique and original acquisitions
Cannes, which is synonymous with the high life and a Mecca for stars in May during its Film Festival upped style and glamour several notches for the occasion. With so many glamorous, special events taking place in this beautiful Mediterranean town it is difficult to conjure up new ideas to astound and impress residents. However, the Millionaire Fair succeeded in creating an exceptional event, which was held at the famous Palais des Festivals et des Congrès with the added advantage of a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea. The show exceeded expectations and inspired the 8,000 visitors, many of whom flew in especially from all around the world. They were rewarded with the best of the best and more. The most expensive cell phone ever created, embedded with diamonds was sold for one million Euro by Goldvish, securing a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Among those who exhibited at the fair was Domaine de Terre Blanche, the stunning Mediterranean resort with two of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe, which has just opened its new luxurious spa treatment centre. Other attendees were the prestigious cars Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz and private jet companies such as Aircraft Consulting Group from the Principality of Monaco, taking private transportation to another level.

What sets the fair apart from the rest is the originality and diversity of choice under one roof; Hummers, thoroughbred stallions, single malt whiskey, lavish jewels by Cartier, exclusive resorts and jets to whisk you there in style and comfort are just some of the things you can expect. Each exhibitor is selected for its reputation as the best in the business and at the top of the luxury ladder. There is even something for the millionaires’ privileged offspring with prestige children’s toys offering miniature, electric battery-powered sports cars for €6,000 or mini classic Riva boats, for a mere €32,000. Fair visitors are privy to never-before-seen products as exhibitors use the occasion to launch new products.

The next fair will return to its place of origin in Amsterdam in Holland this December and promises even more indulgence. Prepare for the most luxurious shopping spree of your life!
