Korean Air Adds More Flights to China, Sea Asia
Korean Air Adds More Flights to China, Sea Asia

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- In October, Korean Air will add more flights to China to total 21 destinations and further strengthen its commitment to be the preferred airline between North America and China.

New destinations include Dalian, Changsha, Nanjing and Guangzhou (Canton). Additional flights will be added to existing destinations such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Jinan, Kunming, Qingdao, Sanya, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen Tianjin, Urumqi, Weihai, Wuhan, Xiamen, Xian, Yanji, and Yantai.

Korean Air now flies from more cities in North America to more cities in China than any other airline.

And there's more: Starting this winter, Korean Air will add service to Kotakinabalu, Malaysia; Kathmandu, Nepal and Utapao, Thailand, boosting Korean Air's destinations to at least 70 Asian cities from North America.

In addition, Korean Air strengthened its North American network with last week's launch of Las Vegas as its 13th transpacific gateway.

Korean Air's inflight service earned a top three ranking in almost every airline category in the 2005 TIME Asia Readers' Travel Choice Awards. The carrier is also a two-time winner of the prestigious Mercury Award for catering and has been awarded best new menu launch and most outstanding food service by Pax International Magazine.

With its excellent financial performance in 2005, Korean Air received the "Phoenix Award" from Air Transport World (ATW) for its success in overcoming challenges in the global airline industry.

The carrier is investing billions of dollars in fleet improvements and amenities, and it's paying off well. Aviation Week recently named the airline one of 2005's most improved and one of the world's top five best performing carriers.

Korean Air, with a fleet of 118 aircraft, is one of the world's top 20 airlines and operates over 80 passenger flights per week between North America and Asia. Its North American gateways are Anchorage, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington, D.C.

Globally, Korean Air flies to almost 100 cities in 31 countries. It is a founding member of SkyTeam, the global airlines alliance -- partnering Aeroflot Russian Airlines, AeroMexico, Air France, Alitalia, CSA Czech Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM and Northwest Airlines.
