MIAMI, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has named long-time Human Resources (HR) executive Maria Del Busto its vice president of Human Resources. In her new role, Del Busto will be the company's chief human resources officer and assume lead responsibility for the company's HR functions worldwide serving over 40,000 employees. Del Busto will report to company Chairman and CEO Richard D. Fain.

Del Busto has held leadership roles in her field for more than 23 years, most recently, as vice president of Corporate Human Resources at Royal Caribbean, a job she has held since 2000. Her new position adds responsibilities for global facilities and shipboard HR to current tasks, which include compensation and benefits, global recruiting, employee relations, HR systems, training and development, and union negotiations.

Previously, Del Busto served as senior vice president, Corporate and Field Human Resource Services, for Fortis Health. Earlier, she worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
