ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. , today announced the airline will expand its route map from Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport with new nonstop service to Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. The service will begin on November 7, 2006, and will operate on the airline's popular Boeing 717 aircraft.

AirTran Airways continues to expand service to key markets on the East Coast. With the addition of this newest route, the airline offers five nonstop destinations from Newport News/Williamsburg. AirTran Airways continues to expand its service from Ft. Lauderdale, and this new route brings the number of nonstop destinations there to nine.
