KEYSTONE, Colo., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The holidays will be even sweeter this year at Keystone. On the mountain, skiers and riders will enjoy more than 9 feet of early-season snow and four times more terrain open at this time than the historical average.

Off the mountain, Keystone chef Ned Archibald has sculpted 2,500 pounds of chocolate into a miniature alpine village complete with a massive chocolate mountain, a working chocolate gondola, a cascading chocolate waterfall and new this year -- a 6-foot white chocolate Christmas tree with hand-blown sugar ornaments. According to Archibald, it took 10 months of work to create the 10th anniversary Chocolate Village located in the Keystone Lodge lobby. For those watching your waistlines, that's 5.8 million calories; but don't worry this Chocolate Village is not to be eaten.

Keystone's offering more yummy treats -- Take advantage of one sweet deal by staying at the Keystone Lodge for $189 per night, Dec. 16 through Dec. 22. This rate is based on double occupancy, other restrictions apply.

For those who want to take a little -- or big -- part of the Chocolate Village home with them, Chef Archibald will create a custom chocolate Christmas tree and/or chocolate village for you and your family. He also designs one-of-a-kind chocolate sculptures, cakes, pastries and sweet treats for corporate groups, weddings, fundraisers, events and other functions.
