In September of 2009, The EPA issued its final mandatory reporting of greenhouse gases rule requiring that over 10,000 facilities will have to submit an annual report of total GHG emissions and an inventory management plan directly to the EPA. Under the rule, suppliers of fossil fuels or industrial greenhouse gases, manufacturers of vehicles and engines, and facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons or more per year of GHG emissions are required to submit reports.
