Genesis of The Gratitude Challenge

Tiny Prints created The Gratitude Challenge to spark an online movement by asking an exclusive set of 13 popular bloggers to join the 16 Tiny Prints employees to simply express gratitude for the little things that kept them smiling. The original program ran for 21 days in late August through early September 2009.

Throughout the 21 days, the participants expressed their gratitude with written word, beautiful photography and personal videos on their blogs. Each expression shared intimate and personal moments of gratitude, ranging from the smell of freshly baked cookies, to their beautiful children and life after a serious car accident. According to Han, "the expressions of gratitude began with the obvious and, over time, morphed into some deep and very personal moments. It was quite touching."

"I joined The Gratitude Challenge to force myself to actually stop, take a moment, and reflect on the elements of my life that make me the most happy. It's as simple as that," said Arianne Segerman, creator of the popular blog To Think is To Create, who also was one of the movement's founding bloggers. "The Challenge was a journey, and I learned a lot about myself, and my love for my family, along the way. In honor of World Gratitude Day, I truly hope others take that journey with me."
